Following the amalgamation of the former Councils of Murray and Wakool, the Talis Team was engaged by the newly formed Murray River Council to undertake a complete waste services review and identify opportunities to consolidate the number of waste management facilities across the Council. Bega Valley Shire Council (BVSC) has a long-term vision to develop a Resource Recovery Facility at its Central Waste Facility in Wolumla where local employment will be created and commercial and industrial (C&I) and municipal solid waste (MSW) recycling will divert waste from landfill.
The Riverina and Murray Regional Organisation of Councils (RAMROC) which is made up of Albury and Griffith City Councils, Balranald, Berrigan, Carrathool, Hay, Leeton, Narrandera and Wentworth Shire Councils and Edward River, Federation, Murray River and Murrumbidgee Councils in the south west of NSW came together and engaged Talis to prepare a Regional Waste Avoidance and Resource Recovery Strategy (the Strategy) to set the direction for the implementation of an efficient and sustainable waste management system across the region.

The Shire of Upper Gascoyne contracted Talis Consultants to address flooding of the area's central community, which had caused substantial issues for the Shire including a pending legal action. The Talis team worked to develop an alternative drainage strategy; achieving a design that ensured that surface water flow across the boundary of the Shire’s land and into the private land would always remain less than pre-development flows, resolving the issues (including the legal action).
Talis Consultants was contracted by Moreland City Council to undertake data capture for approximately 650 kilometres of road and 1090 kilometres of footpath in Victoria. This project was carried out by a team of experienced asset inspectors using a variety of research methods, including in-field visual assessment and high-speed data collection. The data collected was used to inform long-term works plans and infrastructure valuations.
