Talis Consultants maintain relationships with a number of Australian local governments, frequently assisting with ongoing waste management projects.
The City of Karratha engaged Talis to provide consultancy support as part of the 7 Mile Waste Facility project. The City required hands-on support for both the development of both new cells and the capping of existing waste masses in the project area.
Talis authored an initial master plan for the site outlining future development areas, on which both conceptual and detailed designs were prepared for the new cells to provide 1M m3 of void space. The Talis team led the environmental approvals for the project, including the Environmental Protection Authority referral as well as works approval and licence amendments from the Department of Environment Regulation.
Now open for public use, the 7 Mile Waste Facility and Transfer Station is fully operational, servicing the Karratha and surrounding regions.
